Disguise

Is the End of Innocence a visual metaphor developed four years ago. So, saying, do not fall for the beauty. It will tear you apart. It’s not our fault we cannot escape her sight. She blooms not just to attract us by her look but also by her scent. The contrast between her positive and negative sides stands out and warns us of life’s challenges. The need to grow petals is like a newborn with new ideas and problems. “Not everything is the rose color” is the saying. It does not last longer than we expect and while having enjoyed it.

Enlarging small objects on a large canvas is minimalistic in disguise. The shadow portrayed a figure representing adversity. Other people acting negatively are wrong, and we must be alert.

Finishing this piece was challenging because still life is meant for appreciation and study among art students. During this creative process, disguise looked shallow and meaningless. It needed to have a message, and it did not come by magic but by challenge.

There is so much envy out there, and problems make me see life not like roses but as a balance where we all can challenge it to make a better world. I saw her petals casting a shadow, not belonging to her. It arose in my imagination that she seemed to whisper her name. The stand holds a few spines for something so delicate as her beauty, which could stab and badly hurt us.

In short, the main point is in the wrong choices we make and have in front of us. It may follow us to the end of our days or finish now. It takes courage to talk about it and let it go. Then, it will come and pass by the beauty in life.

Road to Pascua

The Road to Pascua depicts pilgrims walking forward to a glorious and peaceful day. An allegory to one of the many missing links from Earth is a source of inspiration from the Pascua sculptures in Chile. His giant figure ceaselessly ignites our imagination. Half of their body digs into the ground. It left us wondering where it came from, leaving space for assumptions such as entities from other worlds. Others are a source of communication, and their theories continue to evolve.

The Road to Pascua sparks joy in warm colors, sparking energy within the Road and its surroundings. Standing in a mist-shaded equinox denotes another world we do not understand and is based perhaps on faith. Moreover, the symbols on their ground and tunics emulate binary language referring to technology we may not understand.  A trip to Santiago recreates a narrative event that shows figures settling on the ground in our present time. Other sources used include the Crop Circle that appeared in Wilshire, United Kingdom, which completes the composition on the ground. Then, turning it backward into haloes on their faces recreates signals. In the previous painting, a couple was posing in front of the sun. Here, the main subjects are the models communicating energy waves to the sky. Signals like the symbols in Nasca convey a clear message.

In short, the Road to Pascua is a beauty surrounded by mystery. Step into it, and feel your body’s clean age begins, for there is no contamination in the air. It is where secrets are ready to unfold, but it is better to leave it alone. This is in part because anything we touch is destroy, it maybe we are afraid to, or we are not ready to see the truth.

Forever

Forever display a couple in front of the sun inviting us to look at in intricated geometric lines. The floor is the stage, reflection and comfort. This is the first extended idea that started eight years ago, and his content inspired in nature. A new technique emerged, and I expanded through memories. The pale sky reflects a fossil-like fish recreating a shape like an engraving technique. The mirror effect comes from previous experimentation with glass windows. Alternate shapes we can see inside and outside through transparency. Thanks to the metallic marker I succeed in re-creating a flash effect from the front light.

Moreover, the colors are warm, with a few cool tones highlighting a point of rest. Onward, the composition resembles a binary world filled with lot of information to dig into. Likely resembling the subject’s personality and community, full of energy and ground touching. Ever last posing in front of the sun. Technically I easiest details to fade and balance composition having in mind how we perceived information.

By The same token, the psychology of choosing male and female as my subjects comes from our digital era. The constant phone camera shots bridge acceptance as part of society. Security or insecurity resilience does not approve of anybody from creating. As good as just eating food or posing in front of the sun. After all, there is only one Forever shot in our life, to caress for. From now on, anything that is in the present becomes the past. Ultimately, as long as we are contemptuous, the rest doesn’t matter.

Thank you…
